I took a welding class at ACC so that I could fabricate the mid-span column for my workshop that will sit between the garage doors and support the LVL that runs above them.
Cutting the column to length with the bandsaw
Drilling out the baseplate for 1/2" anchor bolts on the drill press
The 1/2" baseplate welded to the bottom of the column
The saddle to carry the LVL made from 1/4" plate welded to the top
