Trip to Qatar

Last week, I had the opportunity to travel to Doha, Qatar and visit the Combined Air and Space Operations Center (US Central Command), which provides the command and control of airpower throughout Iraq, Afghanistan and 18 other nations.

Here is an unclassified image of operations in the new CAOC facility:
This is a look down over the floor from the balcony and a typical scene inside the old CAOC facility
In addition to supporting exercise operations in the CAOC, I took some time to do some sightseeing around the city.  These dhows (antique fishing boats) are moored next to the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.

Skyline of downtown Doha
It seems the entire city is under construction
Condominiums on a newly man-made island called The Pearl
Arabian Sunset

Cafes and shops in the Souq Waqif, meaning 'Permanent Market', with the minaret of the Doha Islamic Cultural Center in the background

Cool photography. I like the way the Doha Islamic Cultural Center minaret is lit up in the background of the Souq Waqif shot. In the Condo shot, is the island called "The Pearl," or the Condominiums? How was the weather?
