Jewelry Boxes

I have been working on this project for a long time and I am very pleased with the results.  Last year I got the idea to build Jewelry Boxes to give all the ladies on my Christmas shopping list.  Now that I have them all built and distributed, this is how they were constructed.  The design is original, combining some ideas from multiple sources.

Here we have the base of the prototype with layout markings for the members that will sit on top of it.
I had to build some drawers first in order to know what the spacing between the stiles should be.  Here are some drawers and the stiles being dry fit onto the base.
One of the drawers being clamped:

Now I am building one of the trays that sit atop the units.  Somewhat frustrating to use was this doweling jig until I bought a drill press to make the remainder of the trays.
The drawer slides are let into this panel, which is being glued to the front stile that you see running vertically at the front of the units.
Looking from the back as the panels are dry fit, you can cleats that are set on the base to which the center panels are glued.
With the back panel glued and fit, the back stiles are glued in place.
Glue the tray down on top and the carcass of the prototype is built and ready for some finish.
With the prototype built, I can cut all the pieces for the other 4 boxes:
All five carcasses are built and finished and I'm gluing one of the doors.
All five boxes are completed and ready to give!

Hi Scott...I saw Melissa's gift in Denver and am super impressed. Bravo! You should create an Etsy store. :) Hoping you and Amy are doing well.
BTW: I saw this post from something Brian posted...I figured my comment might seem kind of random. :)
