My dad thought that removing the old bushes was going to be tough.
It wasn't that bad.
We ran a drip irrigation line for the new bushes so they'll make it through the next drought. Here you can see how we tied into the line for the other flower bed.
Another half a yard of Hill Country Garden Soil from the Natural Gardener and the new bushes are planted with some Plumbagos added in front of them for some color:
