Framing the east half of the workshop means placing a column between the garage doors to support a built-up LVL beam that will carry one end of the joists. Here I've gotten the bolts epoxied in place and ready for the column:
Now the column is set and grouted in position:

Now I'm drilling holes to bolt the beam into the saddle:
Moving over to the stair landing, here is my custom fabricated beam hanger bolted onto the other column:
After hanging some joists, here is the landing with the deck on it:
Looking out from the new landing, here is the floor all framed up:
