We woke up to sunny skies and sea breeze and set off to explore the island with the new waterproof GPS enabled camera that Amy didn't know she got me for our anniversary. We inspected everything in the yard around the house, went back to the dock and watched some fish, and then embarked on our goal to hike around the perimeter of the island.
Thousands of tiny fish around our dock:
Then we went to the large beach to begin a hike around the island's perimeter. An easy stroll down the beach faded into a walk down a coral pathway until we rounded this point near the sandbar and then things got a bit murky:
Rounding the corner at the halfway point to find the dock directly opposite the beach where we began:
A panorama from the tip of the long peninsula on the south end:
We waded to where the motorboat was moored to check it out and this barracuda swam alongside, watching us for most of the way:
Then we dragged the lounge chairs into the surf and Amy read her kindle in her new waterproof case while I pondered the lone stormcloud of the trip to see if it would offer any cooling rain. This would be how we would end most of our adventures - lounging in the surf on our private beach.
